As an admirer of your achievements there’s a small favour I’d like to ask of you. Please remember Blessed Franz Jägerstätter in your prayers. He was an Austrian farmer beheaded in 1943, not for killing, but for refusal to kill – for Hitler. Franz was beatified last October (his first feast day is today), and his widow Franziska, whom I’ve met twice is still alive at 95. Please pray for her too.

Thank you very much, and blessings,

i admire the great things you have done in your life and i honestly wish that could have the courage, one day, to stand up for some thing that i truly believe in. I am still only in school so i have not expirenced life to its full extent as yet, however, when researching for an essay for my religion class i came accross your story. It inspired me on so many levels and i thoroughly enjoyed writing my essay, which I can say does not happen very often.

Thank you for stnding up and speaking out about the death penalty, i can not comprehend what people think when they decide that taking anothers life is the right thing to do, it truly puzzles me.

thank you again and Gods blessing

  3. Hi Nain,

I’m glad I helped you enjoy that essay writing. I used to be a teacher, so I’m always happy when I can help students enjoy their work!

I believe you will surely have the courage to stand up for something you deeply believe in. It wasn’t until I was a lot older than you that I learned to speak up for the poor and that social justice was central to Jesus’ teachings and life. You’ve got a big head start on me.

    Thanks so much for writing.
