I am an Episcopal Deacon preparing to preach this Sunday on John 15:9-17 “love one another as I have loved you.” I keep being drawn to your ministry of accompanyment., the way you love the other. You, like Jesus, stayed…in ministry we can’t neceesarily fix everything but our presence may help to bear the hurt pain of another. As you have said we can be Jesus for our brothers and sisters. I serve as the director of a camp for children who have an incarcerated parent, I can’t help but wonder how many of the parents are unjustly conviced because of the lack of resources, or prejudice and bigotry because of their race. I am thankful for your witness and hope to make a difference in the lives of those who find themselves or a loved one behind bars.
