Welcome opera goers!

Music moves us in special ways and I am eternally grateful to Jake Heggie and Terrance McNally for crafting such a powerful and moving opera from my book, Dead Man Walking.

In each of its forms - book, movie, play, opera and (soon) graphic novel - Dead Man Walking has introduced audiences to the death penalty, one of the great moral issues facing our country. Most people rarely take time to think about this fundamental human right and very few of us take the time to delve deeply enough into the issue to be able to make an informed decision about it.

This website is my invitation to you to take that time, to learn, to explore and to reflect.
