O-o-h child things are gonna get easier
O-o-h child things’ll get brighter
O-o-h child things are gonna get easier
O-o-h child things’ll get brighter
Someday we’ll get it together and we’ll get it undone
Someday when the world is much brighter
Someday we’ll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun
Someday when the world is much lighter
O-o-h child things are gonna get easier
O-o-h child things’ll get brighter
O-o-h child things are gonna get easier
O-o-h child things’ll get brighter
Someday we’ll get it together and we’ll get it undone
Someday when the world is much brighter
Someday we’ll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun
Someday when the world is much lighter
O-o-h child things are gonna get easier
O-o-h child things’ll get brighter
O-o-h child things are gonna get easier
O-o-h child things’ll get brighter
Someday we’ll get it together and we’ll get it undone
Someday when the world is much brighter
Someday we’ll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun
Someday when the world is much lighter
O-o-h child things are gonna get easier
O-o-h child things’ll get brighter
O-o-h child things are gonna get easier
O-o-h child things’ll get brighter
Right now right now

Why this song?
A song of hope in hard times. Nina Simone certainly lived through many of those. Some of her music speaks directly to the terrible injustices and outrages perpetrated against blacks (take a listen to Mississippi Goddam, one of the bravest songs ever written). Others, like this, looked forward to a better time. – Submitted by Rose
