Why this song?
A universal call against the death penalty. - Paul G.
Lyrics
25 years feels like a lifetime
Rotting in this hell hole has robbed me of my prime
Been served my last meal on many a day
Tomorrow I’ll know if I get one more play
The more you look the less you see
The quality of mercy ain’t like on TV
Governor says I’ve run out of time
You get better justice at the five n’ dime
They say killing my boss is what I done
Maybe he deserved it but I wasn’t the one
Where’d I get 10,000 to pay that man
Who testified I paid him it was all a scam
The more you look, the less you see
The quality of mercy ain’t like on TV
A coked-up addict would decide my fate
Get Jesus on the mainline before it’s too late
Being twice on trial for murder was rough on me
The prosecutor giving me the 10th degree
Twice the governor gave me one more time
But now says no more free meals on his dime
The more you look, the less you see
The quality of mercy ain’t like on TV
A coked-up addict would decide my fate
Get Jesus on the mainline before it’s too late
